2024 Tairāwhiti Ngutukākā Festival Announced!

The Tairawhiti Ngutukaka Festival is being planned for 18-21 September 2024! This festival will connect, engage and encourage local and tourist communities to restore and protect ngutukākā on the East Coast of Te Ika-a-Maui.
Our aims are to:
- Raise awareness of how endangered and vulnerable the ngutukākā is
- Engage communities to grow and plant ngutukākā
- Increase local economy and small business and local tourist operator income at a time of the year when there are not many visitors to the coast
