Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Mangatuna are one of Tairawhiti Ngutukākā's founding schools. The Kura is located on SH35, inbetween Tolaga Bay and Tokomaru Bay. Today at the entrance are four fully grown ngutukākā greeting students and their families.

The tamariki are involved with the planting, weeding and care for the ngutukākā, and we have recently plated more ngutukākā along the driveway and roadside. Our volunteers have formed a special bond with the students of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Mangatuna, sharing a love for the ngutukākā and other native species, and conversing in Te Reo sharing the Whakapapa of ngutukaka.

As the tamariki of Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Mangatuna grow, so too will the ngutukākā, and they can take pride in the hard work and care they have put into planting and maintaining these plants.
